My background
I was born in Japan to a military family. Inspired by my father’s service, his passion for visiting historical sites while we lived in Germany, and my mother’s love for antiquities (and all things old), I became passionate about traveling: exploring nooks and crannies wherever I am and appreciating cultural diversity throughout the world. My career in exhibition management melded a love of diverse cultures, art, and antiquities with an eye for logistical details. How I got started
My very first travel agent gig was in college where I coordinated a spring break to Florida for me and three friends. While working on exhibitions abroad, my sister and I traveled together every chance we got - a pass-time that persists today. Once I left the museum world, I started planning cruise adventures with anyone who would go with me! This photo captures the delight on my grandson's face at Disneyland building lifelong memories.
Top destinations
My favorite travel destinations are too many to name! I was amazed by the Normandy coastline in Dieppe - it was covered with rocks! The air of Canberra is thick with the scent of their native eucalyptus. Eating gelato in front of the Duomo in Florence is divine. Don't walk in a bike lane in Amsterdam unless you are ready to give up your life! My secret pleasure? Supermarkets, grocery stores, food courts, and street markets!
